Toshiba has just unveiled a new security camera designed to make wireless security solutions easier for indoor us. The new camera comes to us as the IK-WB16A-W 2MP IP camera, which is also equipped with 802.11n wireless connectivity as well as a whole host of other features that are sure to make any indoor wireless security surveillance system go up with ease.

The camera’s megapixel resolution allows a single model of the IK-WB16A-W to wirelessly capture an overview of a large room or space, which makes it especially useful in areas like grocery stores, shopping malls, casinos, parking garages, storage rooms, warehouses, etc… In addition to that, the camera is also capable of capturing high-details situations, including close-ups on the smallest of objects.

The wireless flexibility of the IK-WB16A-W, as well as versatile PTZ functionality, allows installers to have a greater amount of freedom when mounting the camera, including areas that aren’t wired with Ethernet cabling. After the camera is installed, it’s live video can be viewed and camera movements can be controlled via a network linked PC, notebook, tablet or smartphone.

The IK-WB16A-W also supports simultaneous quad-streaming of MPEG-4 and MJPEG video in a plethora of resolutions in order to provide both higher quality and optimal bandwidth formats. A maximum of ten clients can also simultaneously access live video streams as well as record video directly onto a PC hard drive or NVR.

In addition to that, the camera also features a Micro SD card slot for local storage, just in case you lose connection. An advanced 1/3.2″ CMOS progressive scan sensor also delivers flicker-free, ultra-sharp color video up to 30 FPS without any picture blur and user-selectable resolutions range from megapixel 1,600 x 1,200 to cellphone size 176 x 144 pixels. In addition to that, there is also a 4x digital zoom for higher resolution settings.

The IK-WB16A-W camera package includes free versions of Toshiba camera recording software that enables video recording, exporting and uploading, motion detection and alarm recording, auto PTZ and two-way audio communication.

Revolutionary Concepts Incorporated has achieved a lot of big milestones in its attempt to deliver a plethora of apps for its EyeTalk IP camera technology which promotes preemption, prevention and peace of mind for its customers. Recent patent approvals, along with the signing of SIS Development Incorporated and the pending acquisition of Security Solutions & Management, LLC, have allowed Revolutionary Concepts Incorporated to begin to find its niche in access control, entry management and monitoring technology.

The new patented capabilities of EyeTalk represent a breakthrough development enhancing traditional monitoring and surveillance systems by adding applications that allow customers to have two-way audio and visual communication through their smartphones, tablets or other handheld devices.

The preemptive design of Revolutionary Concept Incorporated’s technology allows the commercial or residential consumer to identify and communicate with an individual remotely as they enter the perimeter of the property being monitored. This allows you to do things like instruct a delivery driver where to leave a package or conduct virtual visits with people.

In addition to that, police departments and security companies will have the assistance of event monitoring centers streaming real time video to their hand held devices while a crime is taking place. This provides these departments with valuable information that could be key in catching whoever was responsible or stopping a crime before or as it is happening.

According to President and CEO of Revolutionary Concepts Incorporated Ronald Carter, “Based on proven concepts and feasibility studies through two complete prototypes, I believe Revolutionary Concepts is moving into an arena where demand has indicated tremendous opportunities for growth.”

It seems that a lot of companies are integrating security camera technology with handheld devices. This is definitely a great way to keep tabs on your camera feeds from anywhere in the world whenever you need to.

Y-Cam has just unveiled its newest product, the Bullet HD, a high-definition bullet camera that allows you to have HD video and image capabilities in outdoor surveillance situations. In addition to that, the Bullet HD is Y-Cam’s first 720p IP camera and while it is basically the same on the outside as the standard model, the Bullet HD is 200mm long and its length increases to 250mm with the added 802.11n AP wireless aerial.

The Bullet HD has received an IP66 rating which means that it is capable of withstanding dust, high winds and high water pressures, making it perfect for any outdoor surveillance job. All cables for the Bullet HD are routed through a sealed cover and a 980mm waterproof sheath, providing PoE and an I/O block for added external devices like alarms.

In addition to the HD resolution, this device comes with a bigger 1/3″ CMOS and H.264 support with all the same features as Y-Cam’s standard camera. Night vision capabilities are aided by 12 IR emitters around the lens which also help with motion detection. The Bullet HD also comes with a microSD card slot for added recording and memory.

It goes without saying that the image quality of the Bullet HD is far superior to that of the standard bullet camera though it is worth noting that the Bullet HD also has superior color balance and contrast. Unfortunately, the focus is a little off but is perfectly suitable for facial recognition as far as 16+ feet away. One more thing to note is that the Bullet HD does have problems handling bright light sources, especially sunlight.

The camera switches over to a mono mode as light decreases and then to full IR in pitch black. The camera is capable of illuminating objects as far away as 50 feet though detail beyond 16 feet tends to blur. There is also some vertical smearing as well when viewing the camera feed in real time.

As far as IP66 rated IP cameras go, the Bullet HD isn’t bad. It does come with a ton of useful features, like H.264 support, though it may leave some hardcore camera users wanting more. If you are looking for a run-of-the-mill HD bullet camera, however, the Bullet HD from Y-Cam may be just what you are looking for.

Messoa Technologies Incorporated has just introduced the outdoor-ready 2 megapixel network bullet camera known as the NCR875PRO. This device is engineered to provide full 1080p HD smooth video streams at 30.25 full frames per second and is the perfect solution for outdoor applications where details are a priority.

The NCR875PRO strengthens any security system it is incorporated into by ensuring critical moments are captured and that no missing or dropped frames occur that will prevent you from collecting important evidence, should the need arise. The one thing you never want to happen is for something bad to go on and your cameras fail to capture it on video.

The Messoa NCR875PRO, with full 1080p HD 2 megapixel resolutions, captures smooth HD video no matter where it is mounted or what it is recording in a 16:9 aspect ratio. This allows a much wider coverage as well as finer details. The combination of the IR illuminator, mechanical IR-cut filter and proprietary Lumii imaging technology form a powerful trio for adapting extreme lighting changes throughout the day. Images are still able to be captured in superior quality, even in complete darkness.

This camera, which is also ONVIF-compliant, supports triple streaming, enabling the user with more flexibility in resolutions, frame rates and video quality to suit different bandwidth, platforms and back-end storage requirements. In addition to that, this camera has an IP-67 rated housing and a cable-concealed bracket to protect itself from unfavorable weather conditions and tampering. Other advanced features include things like intelligent video management, PoE, two-way audio and the micro SD/SDHC card slot that will facilitate easier installation and deployment.

The NCR875PRO from Messoa provides a comprehensive outdoor surveillance solution for detail-demanding applications that constantly require precise monitoring and detail identifications. The NCR875PRO from Messoa is available for shipment now from Messoa’s website.

Y-Cam has just announced the launch of the company’s newest product, the Y-Cam Bullet HD. Y-Cam released its Y-Cam Bullet Network Camera almost one year ago and many people raved about the hardware and its functionality. However, despite all the praise for the hardware, there was an equal measure of disappointment in the software, which was said to be lacking grace at the time. But Y-Cam is looking to put naysayers to rest with its foray into HD.

This new revision of Y-Cam’s hardware delivers you the same great aesthetic looks of the original camera while simultaneously making the transition into the HD market with 720p video capture at 30 frames per second. This allows you to view everything you could in the past with the previous model, though in high-quality HD this time.

Obviously storage is a big concern for anybody looking into HD surveillance cameras. Because the camera records better quality images, it also requires a greater amount of storage space. Thankfully, the brains over at Y-Cam have already taken that into consideration as video is captured in H.264, reducing file sizes and network bandwidth, making storage less of a burden.

In addition to that, 12 LED lights are outfitted on the camera for infrared night vision and the Bullet HD also features Power over Ethernet allowing it to easily fit into any nook or cranny without the need of a nearby power outlet. This allows for greater flexibility in positioning your cameras, making life easier on you.

The Bullet HD also comes with WiFi connectivity supporting 802.11n high speed connection to your home or small business network. You will also find your usual mix of security camera features, like detection recording, alarms, two-way audio and recording, integrated microSD, NAS and home/small business server, etc…

Pricing may be a little steep for some, especially if you are considering getting this for your home, as the new Bullet HD camera from Y-Cam will run you $671.50 US.

SeSys Ltd., a partner of Mobotix, has just been selected by Wessex Water to help with the commissioning and operation at one of its largest sewage pumping stations. SeSys has deployed a Mobotix camera that has been modified to meet Atex standards in an enclosed water screening building that pumps 8,000 liters of storm water into screens in order to remove debris before it is sent to treatment.

During the commissioning stage, the camera allowed technicians from Wessex Water to adjust the speed of the pumps. Wessex Water is a regional water and sewage treatment business serving an area in the southwest part of England covering over 6,000 square miles.

The screen is essential to stopping debris from being carried into a stream or river when a significant amount of rain exceeds the capacity of the treatment process. The pumps, in terms of power, can move enough water to fill an Olympic-sized swimming pool in just under six minutes when at full speed.

Wessex Water selected a Mobotix camera from SeSys, a specialist in digital IP and network video. SeSys is well-known within the industry for innovative projects, especially within challenging outdoor, subterranean and haz-chem environments.

The camera deployed is the SeSys SE-ATEX-IP-S-D24 camera. It uses technology based on Mobotix D24 cameras and was selected based on its Atex rating, proven reliability in similar, hostile locations and for its high quality images. According to SeSys, “We have also integrated the video feed into the local control panel and we can also remotely view any situation over our Wide Area Network.”

Overall, the installation proved extremely reliable within the pumping station and Mr. Mining, Wessex Water’s ICA Technical and Developmental Manager, believes that the use of CCTV technology in this way helps the organization to ensure the highest levels of service delivery, especially during times of heavy rain.

Axis Communications just announced an improved range of thermal network cameras with the launch of Axis Q1922 and Axis Q1922-E. These are the newest additions to the Axis Q19 Series launched back in January of 2010 as the world’s first true thermal network camera series. These new cameras feature VGA resolutions and a plethora of lens alternatives to ensure better image quality and extended detection ranges in complete darkness and challenging visual conditions.

The VGA resolution of these cameras provides more pixels on the detected person or object. This significantly increases reliability and also improves surveillance efficiency and facilitates integration of intelligent video applications like motion and cross-line detection. In addition to that, these cameras are also perfect for cost-efficient 24-7 area or perimeter surveillance for critical applications like airports, power plants, transportation hubs and harbors. What’s more is that these cameras can also be easily integrated into any IP-based surveillance system.

According to General Manager of Axis Communications Incorporated Fredrik Nilsson, “The combination of thermal capabilities and IP video at an attractive price has made this technology – once only reserved for military-grade applications – appealing for a much wider range of installations and provides a higher level of safety and security to many more sites. As we continue to come out with enhanced thermal network camera models with varying lens options, our integrator partners and their customers have the ability to considerably enhance the detection quality and range of their 24-7 security solutions while more easily integrating third-party applications.”

The Axis Q1922 is designed for indoor surveillance with the Axis Q1922-E designed for outdoor surveillance with an IP66-rated housing. The four available lens alternatives, 640×480 VGA resolution and advanced image processor further improve effective area and perimeter surveillance. In addition to that, the four lens alternatives also sustain maximum flexibility in range and field of view, ranging from 320 to 1,970 yards depending on the lens options.

These new cameras also support key IP surveillance features, like H.264 and Motion JPEG compression, two-way audio, local storage and Power over Ethernet. In addition to that, as intelligent video is also a key component of any thermal network camera, these cameras provide a tampering alarm, motion detection and support for the Axis Camera Application Platform. Both of these cameras are expected to be available in January 2012 via Axis’ distribution channels.

Samsung has just unleashed a new bullet camera that is specifically designed to withstand harsh temperatures in a variety of settings. These new bullet cameras are capable of operating in conditions with temperatures ranging from negative 60 degrees Fahrenheit to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.

The cameras, known as the SCO-2080RH, come complete with a built-in fan, heater and sun shield that ensures the IP6 rated cameras can operate in areas that suffer from extreme weather conditions. In addition to that, these cameras can also be used for some of the most demanding applications, like ports, car parks or airport security installations.

The SCO-2080RH’s built-in IR LED lights also allow the camera to deliver high quality images of objects as far as 165 feet away and the camera can also operate during the day and night time. A twin glass front also negates the problem that many bullet cameras have with their IR LEDs reflecting light back into the lens thanks to dirt or water sitting on the glass front.

Many of the added features on this camera make it ideal for airport security, including eight motion detection zones and twelve privacy masking zones. In addition to that, coaxial control compatibility also allows the fourteen language onscreen display menu to be accessed from the comfort and ease of a control room via a compatible DVR.

Very high quality images can be delivered by this camera, which dishes them out at 600 TV lines during the day and 700 TV lines monochrome during the night. Third generation Samsung Super Noise Reduction technology also allows the camera to eliminate image noise in low light conditions without creating ghosting or blurring. Other key features include Highlight Compensation technology, which helps identify and neutralize excessively bright lights.

Samsung has just unveiled its newly developed full 1080p HD analog video surveillance product series. This all new lineup of cameras is made up of an HD-SDI 1920 x 1080p box camera, an HD-SDI 1920 x 1080p dome camera and a four-channel HD-SDI DVR.

The HD-SDI is a broadcast industry standard and is used to transmit HD images in a digital format over an analog infrastructure. In addition to that, the HD-SDI technology also enables transmission of uncompressed and non-packetised digital video signals with zero loss of image data and zero latency during viewing.

According to Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, North America Samsung Techwin America Frank De Fina, “Our new HD Series video surveillance solutions are another example of Samsung’s ability to provide high performance products with extreme value on any platform. Samsung’s new HD Series allows users with a legacy analog infrastructure to build their investment while dramatically improving system performance.”

The SCB-6000 box camera, as well as the SCD-6080 dome camera, both feature full 1080p HD resolutions and are easily integrated into existing standard definition video surveillance systems. True day/night functionality, as well as SSNRIII technology, also add to the applications of the cameras in terms of flexibility and performance features.

The full HD cameras also offer RS-485 and 24V AC or 12V DC capabilities as well. In addition, the SCD-6080 dome camera also features a 3-8.5mm lens with the SCB-6000 box camera accepting a manual or DC Auto Iris lens with C or CS mounts.

The 4-channel SRD-480D DVR delivers real time recording in 720p HD for each channel and supports recording in full 1080p HD. Aside from H.264 compression technology, this DVR also features a de-interlace function to help delineate the edges of moving objects. In addition to that, audio can also be recorded on all four channels and the SATA HDDs allow DVD-RWs and USB devices to be used for archiving purposes.
